ESZTERHÁZI FESTIVITIES

The Eszterházi Festivities concert series are organized now for fourth time. The event series starts with the Spring Festival on 15th of April and ends with the Autumn Festival in October.

Besides the bands and artists of Spring and Autumn Festival, performers will come like the world known Ton Koopman conductor and harpsichord artist, Monica Huggett violinist, a Kossuth Prize winner Kristóf Baráti and István Várdai, Kim Nazarian jazz vocalist, who will perform with Singer Street, the Hungarian band which won the a capella jazz world competition in Taiwan, 2012. Besides Orfeo Band and György Vashegyi, Esterházy Hofkapelle – the castle’s resident band – will play the orchestral concerts.

Eszterháza Centre of Culture, Research- and festivals organizes the courses and concerts of Old Music Day in cooperation with Filharmónia Hungary, in Eszterházy Castle. This year again, significant artists will teach and perform like Malcolm Bilson, Helmuth Rilling, Simon Standage, Nancy Argenta and Ingrid Attrot.

In addittion to the returning Hungarian artists of Haydn Fesztivál – Orfeo Band, Purcell Choir, a Capella Savaria, the Esterházy Hofkapelle and György Vashegyi, Zsolt Kalló, Márton Rácz – artists will perform like Nicholas McGegan, Monica Huggett, Claire Debono, Enrico Onofri, Thomas Dolié, Julien Chauvin, Alexis Kossenko, Marcus Hoffmann, Pier Luigi Fabretti, Emőke Baráth and Flóra Fábri, Riccardo Doni, Petra Somlai and Károly Mécs.

On the outdoor event of the Festivities – program is called Haydn meets jazz – many world known Hungarian and foreign jazz soloists and band perform in every year. This year, the guest of Talamba band will be Eszter Horgas, Gabi Tóth, the Swing á la Django and the Symphonic Orchestra of Győr.
