Map and rout planning

Arriving by car: from the direction of the city of Győr, via Highway No. 84:

Following the village of Kópháza, when arriving at the city limits of Sopron, take the second exit from the roundabout and leave Highway No. 84, and drive approximately 1 km towards Brennbergbánya on a multi-lane road that takes you to the next roundabout at the edge of the residential area of the city. Leave this roundabout also at the second exit toward Ágfalva / Brennbergbánya (not the Center) and continue on Csengery utca running through the south side of the urban area. (After the urban area Csengery utca continues as Ady Endre út.) Continue on Ady Endre út through an underpass, and drive past the road sign showing the direction of Ágfalva. Drive past the fenced park on the right, and keep right at the Y-intersection to reach Bánfalva, and continue, still on Ady Endre út.

After a few minutes of driving the curvy road in the suburban section, the Monastery and Church complex will appear straight ahead on the hilltop. At the foot of the Monastery Hill take a left at the blue ‘historic monument’ road sign. Drive through the narrow passage (with a 2.3 m height limit) in the middle of an old farm building, and immediately take the sharp left onto the narrow path to reach the entrance of the Monastery.

Arriving by car: from the direction of the city of Vienna, via Highway No. 84:

Leave Vienna on Speedway No. A2, and head south, then continue on Highway No. A3 to the interchange, where you continue on Highway No. 16 toward the Hungarian border. Cross into Hungary past the village of Klingenbach, and drive a few minutes on Highway No. 84 to reach Sopron.

At the city limits of Sopron take a slight right turn off Highway No. 84, and drive down Lackner Kristóf utca toward Ágfalva / Brennbergbánya. At the roundabout take the second exit to continue straight, and take the first exit at the next roundabout to turn onto Selmeci utca. At the T-intersection, make a left onto Táncsics utca, and a right onto Kossuth Lajos utca. After crossing the railways, take the first possible left turn onto Mártírok utca at the corner of the park. At the first traffic lights (next corner of the park), make a right onto Ady Endre út. After a short distance, keep right at the Y-intersection to reach the suburban area of Bánfalva, and continue, still on Ady Endre út.
